Happy Back to the Future Day!
On this date in 2015 (God, it's hard to believe that it's almost been ten years since then), Marty McFly, Jennifer Parker, and Dr. Emmett Brown had arrived here on a time machine built out of a DeLorean DMC-12 to prevent Marty and Jennifer's son from making a decision that would ruin his life. Hilarity ensued.
This was depicted in the film Back to the Future Part II, released on November 22, 1989. The film made $332 million on a $40 million budget, making it the third highest grossing movie of the year. Critics at the time did praise the movie, but thought it was inferior to the original. In the nearly 40 years since, the film has been reappraised and is now seen as one of the best sequels ever made.
