Text Play: Pokémon Zeta #24

Hello, and welcome back to the Vesryn Region! This is entry number 24 in my Text Play of Pokémon Zeta!

Now, as usual, I will warn you. I will warn you, I will be spoiling this game.

If you want to play the game for yourself, you can download it at the game's wiki here. So, with that out of the way, let's go!

Last time, we finally arrived at Blackfist City. Blackfist City is one of the largest cities in the entire Vesryn region. It's here we're going to be facing . But first, there's some items we can pick up in the Residential District. We already got the EXP. Share, but there are still two other items. The first can be found in this house directly below the entrance to the Residential District.

Talk to the Seviper here. It's the black snake-like Pokémon. It'll give you a Poison Gem. A Poison Gem is a one-time use item. If a Pokémon holds it, the first Poison-type attack they use will be increased in power. I don't see the use of such an item myself, but that's just me.

Next, we go up to a house located in the east of the city. We talk to the blond guy inside.

This is for the Wireless Communication Depot in Fianga City. This ID will allow us to battle a simulation of Martin and his Pokémon team at a simulator there. I'd actually like to go back to Fianga and try this out! Sounds fun!

Anyway, there's one main reason we are here. Blackfist City has a Gym, and that Gym has the seventh badge of the game. We get this, we get one step closer to finally challenging the Quasar League!

However, we get a bit of an obstacle when we arrive at the Gym. It turns out that Demetri isn't exactly at home at the moment.

At least the man's still in town, and you don't have to go on a complicated freakin' side quest to find him. The Blackfist Department Store is one of the big features of this city. Like the Celadon City Department Store in the original Red and Blue, the Blackfist Department Store is a multi-leveled building with each floor dedicated to selling particular items. I did see something in the lobby that amused me.

Pay phones. Heh. You do not see those much anymore. The lobby has stairs and an elevator. If you're in a rush, take the elevator. Here's a key to which floors have what:

  • Floor 1: Lobby. You enter here, and there's an old man on the couch who will tell you where Demitiri is hanging out.
  • Floor 2: Trainer's Market. Here you can buy Pokeballs, Potions and healing items, and incense.
  • Floor 3: TV Game Shop. Here you can buy TMs, and eggs for certain Pokémon. The eggs and TM vary in price, so save your money.
  • Floor 4: Wise Man Gifts. Here you can buy certain items that can help Pokémon evolve, like evolutionary stones. You can buy a special new item here called a Dream Stone. Also, you can buy items that can boost Pokémon's stats here like the Choice Band.
  • Floor 5: Drugstore. Here we get drugs. Ha ha, I'm kidding. Here, we can get vitamins that can boost a Pokémon's stats, like Protein, Iron, etc.

Demitri can be found hanging out on the Department Store's roof.

The roof is inaccessible by elevator, you have to take the stairs. Or you can take the elevator to the 5th floor, and take the stairs on that floor to the roof. Anyway, he's the guy with the turquoise hair in the screenshot. He's been eager to battle me since he sensed my defeating Zeus. And with that, he vanishes.

...well, as long as we're up here, might as well get a couple of drinks from the vending machines then head back downstairs. It's hot out here, and I'm thirsty. While there, it got me thinking about what Pokémon I should bring to face Demitri. The man uses Psychic-type Pokémon in his Gym, so Fighting and Poison-types are out of the question. But Psychic Pokémon do have weaknesses. In particular, Bug, Dark, and Ghost-types. They will do the job just fine.

Luckily, I do have some options. A surprising amount of options...

My Butterfree is a Bug/Flying Pokémon, and it knows both Sleep Powder and the Bug-type move Bug Buzz. She is a definite member of my squad to face Demitri. Also, in my experience, Butterfree are surprising powerhouses.

I'm also considering keeping my Luxray on board as well, as he knows Crunch, a Dark-type attack. My Gabite also knows Crunch, and she's shown herself to be a bit of a beast in battle. My Magmortar has Dark Pulse and Confuse Ray. I don't think Victreebel would be helpful here, unfortunately. It's part-Poison, so it's very vulnerable to Psychic-type attacks. Unfortunately, I'll also have to remove Kingdra again as well. I'm quite reluctant to do so, as I replaced them with Tentacruel for getting through Mt. Press. I don't want to leave Kingdra out again, but I really don't have much of a choice. I need the spot.

Sableye would be a good choice to face Demitri. It's Dark/Ghost, and the one I caught does know a couple moves of both types. I think I'll bring that one on board. I have a Mandibuzz that has nothing but Dark-type moves. Krokorok is Dark/Ground and knows Crunch. I also have a Spiritomb. It's Ghost/Dark, and it knows Ominous Wind, a Ghost-type move.

As I was looking over my Pokémon collection, I had found myself thinking back to my days of playing the original Red and Blue. Back then, Sabrina was the most dreaded Gym Leader. Psychic was overpowered in those games, and there was very little options in countering them. Now, I got tons of options. How things change. Ultimately, I went with this team.

Luckily, grinding won't be quite as hard here as I now have the EXP Share. It would have been better if I had the Sun and Moon-style one instead of the one I got, but I'm taking what I can get. And at the last minute, I decided to switch out Spiritomb with Murkrow because, well...I like Murkrow. And I'm not too fond of the moveset my Spiritomb had. I have a Ditto, I wish I could breed a Spiritomb so I'd have more say over what moves it had. And Murkrow is awesome.

Now that I have my team ready to rock and roll, it's time to get to the grinding. And I think that's where we'll stop for the time being. Hopefully, next time, we'll get to face Demitri and get badge #7! Wish me luck!

Text Play: Pokémon Zeta #23

Hello, and welcome back to the Vesryn Region! This is number 23 in my Text Play of Pokemon Zeta!

Now, I will warn you all as usual, this game will be heavily spoiled here.

If you want to play this game for yourself, I recommend downloading it at the game's wiki here. And with that, let's go!

After we finally defeated Zeus (as well as learned some rather shocking things about his past), it's time for us to get back on the road to completing the gym leader circuit. We have already defeated six, so there's only two left. I am still amazed I made it to this point. Thanks to everyone who's been reading these entries so far. The support has been very helpful.

So, where do we go next? Well, we were told we should head to Blackfist City. This city has a big Department Store, a subway system, and it has the game's second Safari Zone. It's also home to the game's seventh Gym. The leader of said Gym is named Demetri, and the Gym specializes in Psychic-type Pokemon. I can imagine this won't be the insanity that Sabrina bought back in Red and Blue.

To get there from Treader Town, we have to do a bit of backtracking to get to Route 315. We have to hit Route 312. If you remember the last time we went there, there were two Team Olympus grunts blocking that route's northeastern exit. Well, with Zeus beaten and on the run, the grunts are gone. So, we can now use this route to get to Blackfist.

The route splits into three paths: East, South, and West. The eastern path will take you to a grassy area surrounding a rock.

This is a Moss Rock. If you level up an Eevee here, it will evolve into a Leafeon. Gotta remember this for the future in case I want to breed me some Eeveelutions.

Anyway, all three paths eventually will lead you to the entrance to the Thunder Underroute. Thunder Underroute. It sounds like a bizarre monster truck course. The Underroute is an underground cavern we have to travel through if we want to get to Blackfist City. The thing is, the Underroute is quite a tough little cave to get through. Luckily, the game's wiki provided a map!

And they also have one for anyone with colorblindness.

Pretty nice, huh? I thought it's pretty cool they made a version of the map for those who have trouble seeing certain colors.

Before we get to the Underroute, I personally recommend that you head back to Ladoga Town and get some supplies at the local shop if you need them. Especially Escape Ropes. They let you instantly get out of caves like the Underroute quickly if you need to head to a Pokemon Center. Now, I know you may be wondering something. Why is this place called the Thunder Underroute? Well, that's because it's the home to a bunch of Electric-type Pokemon. You can get a Magneton, Magnezone, and a Manectric here if you want them. Since we're playing Zeta, we can also get an Eelektrik here. If you're playing Omicron, you can get a Mawile here.

I do want to give a bit of a warning here. There's a glitch in this game that will get you stuck if you try to Surf in any of the bodies of water in the Underroute. So DO NOT SURF IN ANY OF THE BODIES OF WATER HERE. If you do end up in the water, there are a couple ways out. You can use an Escape Rope, or a Pokemon that knows Dig or Teleport if you have one. You can also try to reset the game's map by pressing the hotkey ("P" is the default for this), then use Surf again and press the down button.

If you really want to explore the Underroute, there are a couple TMs you can get there: You can get some items there as well, but I really just want to get through this place and hit Blackfist City.

If you make your way through the route like the map showed, you'll find yourself at the very end of Route 315. And it's a short walk (there's a trainer there, but he can be avoided), you'll find yourself in the Blackfist Residential Area.

Blackfist City is rather unusual compared to many other towns/cities in Vesryn. As you have likely learned from past entries, many of the towns/cities in Vesryn are usually named after lakes. There is no Lake Blackfist to my knowledge. Like in other towns, you can get items here as well. For example, there's this house on the lower right of the Residential Area.

This house is home to a lady with a pair of Bibarels. One of them has an item that would have been very helpful to us in the past: An EXP. Share. For those new to the Pokemon franchise, an EXP. Share is an item that allows Pokemon who have not participated in battles to get some EXP. It's a handy little item for building up new teams to take on Gym Leaders. I just wish we had gotten this item a lot earlier. It would have been very handy.

I mean, I get why you get the EXP. Share early on in Sun and Moon. Unfortunately, this EXP. Share is based on the earlier versions, which means it's a held item. Still, it's better than nothing.

And I think that's where we'll stop here for the month. I am sorry this entry isn't much, but the thing is, I didn't have a lot of opportunity to really work on this Text Play this month. Still, a small bit of progress is better than no progress. I'm just grateful that I managed to get through Mt. Press and make it here. So, I hope you all join me for the next entry!

Thanks for reading this blog entry! If you enjoyed it, show it off! Take care of yourselves and each other! Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home, wash your hands often, wear a mask, and get vaccinated! See you next time!

Text Play: Pokemon Zeta #22

Welcome back to the Vesryn region! This is entry number 22 in my Text Play of Pokémon Zeta!

As usual, I want to warn you, this game will be spoiled here.

As such, before you play this game, I recommend you download the game at its wiki here. And with that, let's continue!

It's time. It's finally time.

It's time to face Zeus, and kick his butt. I have been grinding and working with my Pokemon to get them ready for this. Looking back, though...I have to admit something. I should have brought along a Poliwhirl instead of a Tentacool/Tentacruel. Poliwhirl can learn Hypnosis, and it's a Water-type, so it can likely learn Surf.

To be fair, Tentacruel can poison opponents, so it's not a bad trade off. And I have used Poliwhirl in teams in the past. In my experience, Hypnosis is not the most...reliable thing. Anyway, we head up and get to the peak of Mt. Press. We have to take a loooooooooong stairway to get there.

Seriously! Can we get one of those chair lifts they have at those ski resorts? That would be nice. Just sitting in the chair, riding our way up, thinking about what strategy to use against Zeus. The man himself is standing there. Just standing there, right on top of Mt. Press.

When Zeus spots me, he starts ranting about how I wrecked his plans and his commanders, yada yada yada.

Villain teams never take it well when they get their butts handed to them, ha ha. You'd think at some point, they'd just give up. I mean, this is a world where children training monsters that can level mountains can save the world. Zeus is hoping that our battle will wake up Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon. My guess is it's like a Dragon Ball type situation. Summon Jirachi, and wish to take over the world. Well, let's get this battle over with.

1st Pokemon: Jolteon (Lv. 57) - Switched out.
2nd Pokemon: Salamance (Lv. 58) - Defeated by Garchomp
3rd Pokemon: Shaymin (Lv. 59) - Defeated by Magmortar
4th Pokemon: Dusknoir (Lv. 58) - Defeated Volton. Bite hurt Dusknoi bad due to being Dark-type. Defeated by Butterfree.
1st Pokemon: Jolteon (Lv. 57) - Switched out.
5th Pokemon: Escavalier (Lv. 57) - Defeated by Magmortar
1st Pokemon: Jolteon (Lv. 57) - Defeated by Garchomp.

...I...I did it. I did it. I DID IT! I BEAT ZEUS! I RULE!

Looking back, I should have sent out Volton to take on Dusknoir first. Volton knew Bite, which is a Dark-type move. Dusknoir is a Ghost-type, and Dark-type attacks are supereffective against it. Ah well, at least a lesson was learned for next time we take on a Ghost-type.

Zeus is left confused. That battle was supposed to cause Jirachi to show up...and hopefully with an Earth-shattering kaboom. I doubt Jirachi would want to make that much of an entrance. If the world is destroyed, who would it grant wishes for? Ah, well. We don't always get what we want, Mr. Wannabe-King-of-the-Greek-Gods. That's life for ya.

...but then the ground starts to shake and quake like someone is shaking an Etch-A-Sketch. Uh-oh.

Well, evidently Jirachi did show up after all. Why? Well, evidently, Jirachi has shown up in response to a wish. Not to Zeus's wish...but to mine. You see, I wished to stop him from summoning Jirachi, and I succeeded in making that happen...which ended up summoning Jirachi. The irony.

Zeus basically is like "You summoned it, you catch it". Dude, you were after this Pokemon! It's right here! You're the bad guy! You should be trying to snatch this star-headed little genie! You know what?! Fine. Whatever. I'll try and catch it. Thing is, my team's pretty beat up. Zeus's Pokemon did a number on them, and they're in no shape to weaken this thing. Also, this is Pokemon Zeta. In this game, Jirachi knows an attack called Double Edge, which can cause it to take itself out.

Luckily, I got this Master Ball with me!

For those new to Pokemon lore, the Master Ball is the ultimate Pokeball. It can capture any Pokemon instantly, no fighting needed. However, in Pokemon games, you normally can only get one...for obvious reasons. And it's not like I have other options. As such, I used my Master Ball to catch Jirachi. In this game, I can get another Master Ball when I start up a Secret Base. It's not easy (you'd need a lot of luck), but getting another one is possible. I'll talk more about it if I get around to starting a Secret Base.

Zeus takes my capturing of Jirachi very well. If by "very well", I mean flying into an insane rage. He starts grumbling about how it seems that only children can catch legendary Pokemon like Jirachi. Dude, the whole point of these games is to "Catch them all"! And it's not my fault the protagonists of these games are kids! Besides, I don't want to use Jirachi to take over the world like you do, ya jerk! Zeus then decides to whip out a gun.

Yeah, he just pulls out a gun! Now I know how Ash felt in that one banned Pokemon episode with the Dratini. But thankfully, before we end up eating some lead, someone comes to stop this madness.

Yup. We just got saved by Arceus. Arceus. Who is basically the Pokemon world's version of God. We've basically been saved by the Pokemon equivalent of God. Which makes a bizarre bit of sense. Team Olympus is after legendary Pokemon. They're big deals in the Pokemon world, so it makes sense that Arceus would be interested in this.

Arceus points out that Zeus was once a great hero. But he was not just any hero. The man was once known as...Gold.

Yeah. Gold. As in one of the protagonists of Gold and Silver. It's a rather genuinely surprising moment. At this point, we already saw Ash Ketchum in the game (back in ), but finding out one of the villains of this game was once one of the heroes of the original official games? That's a shock. I wonder how he ended up like this? Something like Team Olympus can't spring up overnight. It also seems to imply that this game takes place in a possible future, years after the events of the mainline official Pokemon games.

Anyway, Zeus gives the whole "that man is dead" rant about his past self. He then notices that Arceus is wearing a Gray Plate. Plates were introduced in Generation IV (Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, as well as HeartGold and SoulSilver), and they're special held items that can increase the power of the moves of a certain type. For example, if you give a Pokemon that knows Fire Punch the Flame Plate, the power of Fire Punch is boosted, as it's a Fire-type move.

If these plates are given to Arceus, it changes the type of its signature move: Judgment. Normally, it's a Normal-type move. But if, again, Arceus is given a Flame Plate, Judgment is changed to a Fire-type move. Zeus then points out that Arceus is missing its Divine Plate. That's new. You see, in the official games, plates correspond to the 16 types of Pokemon. There is no Divine Plate.

Well, Arceus evidently did have such a Plate...and the reason it no longer has one is that, well...it became sentient. It not only became sentient, it became that Divaevus thing that the former Gold was after. So, why is Zeus after this Pokemon? Well, it has a little ability called Tesseract. Jirachi can grant wishes, but once every thousand years. If Zeus gets Divaevus, he can use its Tesseract ability to get around that little rule. You know, Arceus, you can...nuke this guy now if you want.

Well, it can't. Because that's not Arceus.

Yeah, it turns out that "Arceus" was actually a Zoroark doing a bit of illusion-casting. The Zoroark belongs to a member of the Elite Four. In particular, it belongs to Tobias. He specializes in Dark-type Pokemon. He also happens to be the older brother of Graham, the Ghost-type gym Leader. And with that, Zeus just flees. I think. I have no idea.

Either way, I think we won't be seeing much of him for a while. Tobias points out that with all the damage we've done to Team Olympus over the course of this game, the former Gold will be spending plenty of time licking his wounds, as it were. As such, we can concentrate on completing our run through the Gym Leaders of this game. Six down, two to go, baby! Whoo!

Tobias encourages us to go take on the remaining two Gym Leaders, then challenge the Elite Four. Toby my friend, I did not go this far to stop here! I'm going all the way, baby! I'll see you at the Quasar League! But first, we gotta get out of this friggin' mountain. We head out to go the long way down Mt. Press back to Treader Town when we encounter a group of people who want to meet with us.

...is this an intervention? Listen, I can quite drinking those Chesto Berry Shakes any time I want to! I just don't want to! I don't have a problem YOU HAVE A PROBLEM...oh, they want to thank us for stopping Zeus and catching Jirachi. And now I feel stupid.

I recognize Mom, Professor Oak, and N from Black and White. They want to congratulate us for beating the former Gold. Well, that's real nice of them. It was not easy to do so, but I had faith in my team. It's here that Mom decides to drop a bombshell that I admittedly found not that surprising: She was a former Champion of the Vesryn region.

Yeah, it was not hard to deduce that. Well, it turns out the reason she isn't the Champion anymore is because she was defeated by Gold. And it also turns out that "Gold" wasn't his actual name. It was Ethan. I'm not sure what the point of that was. Yeah, I get that it's not that realistic to give someone the name "Gold", but it could have just been a nickname. Or maybe it's just a Pokemon game, just let it go.

The big question is...what happened to him? Evidently something happened to Gold that caused him to transform himself into Zeus. And it must have been pretty big.

And it turns out his real name wasn't Gold, it was Ethan. Anyway, something happened and Gold disappeared...the big question is, what happened to him? What caused him to become Zeus, leader of Team Olympus? It must have been something really significant. It's here that we get another revelation. Since Gold vanished...the Vesryn region has had no Pokemon Champion.

(Will Smith whut)

...wait, what?! ...How?! Did...did nobody challenge the Elite Four since Gold vanished?

That was a Zoroark pulling an illusion. The Zoroark belongs to Tobias. Like , he's an Elite Four member, his specialty being Dark-types. He's the older brother of Graham, the Ghost-type Gym Leader. Tobais assures us that Zeus will lie low for a while. After all, he needs Jirachi, and we have it. Tobias encourages us to complete our run through the Gym Leaders, and then challege the Elite Four at the Quasar League. We head back to get healed up, and find that there are some people waiting for us.

(screenshot here)

I recognize Professor Oak, Mom, and N. They congratluate us for stopping Zeus and catching Jirachi. Mom revelas she was a former Pokemon Champion herself. I kind of figured this.

(I knew it)

She then reveals she was succeeded by Gold. And it's not his real name. He was a Johto native named Ethan. He had disappeared...well we know now where he is! And as such, there's no Champion for us to beat after defeating the Elite Four. ...why not just include the next challenger? Oak is going to try and find Team Olympus while they're still licking their wounds. He tells me to go hit Route 312 and Blackfist City. And we're back in Treader Town.

Text Play: Pokémon Zeta #21

Hello, and welcome back to the Vesryn region! This is the 21st entry in my Text Play of Pokémon Zeta!

Now, as usual, I want to warn you. I will be spoiling the whole game.

So, if you want to play this game for yourself, I recommend downloading it at the game's wiki here. And with that out of the way, let's go!

I have to admit, I am rather nervous about this whole thing. I have never felt nervous before a big battle against anyone before. I have no idea why. Maybe it was because of the amount of grinding I've had to do in this game so far? I mean, I get the point of grinding. I understand it, I don't mind it. But it does mess with your head when you need to do a ton of grinding just so you can feel confident enough to face an upcoming threat.

As intimidating as this is, we can't put it off forever. We have to face Zeus to go ahead in this game. Although I will admit, I find it interesting that we're facing the big boss of the bad guy team here instead of...say, around the time we have to go up against this team's Elite Four. It does kind of feel like the game wants to try and get the Team Olympus storyline out of the way.

Despite this, I doubt that beating Zeus here will mean that it will be the end of our troubles with them. I highly doubt that my beating Zeus will stop them from trying to collect legendary Pokémon so they can take over the world. After all, they managed to get Shaymin. And I doubt he's the only legendary Pokémon in this game.

Anyway, we last left off meeting up with a second nurse.

Jokes about her not having any sort of station aside, I do like that this mountain does have a couple of nurses here. Mt. Press is quite a long journey, and having a couple of nurses around like this really is a helpful anti-frustration feature. Saves on buying and using healing items.

In the screenshot, you may have noticed the bunch of Team Olympus goons near the nurse. Don't worry about them, you don't have to battle them. In fact, they allow you to pass by them because they want to see Zeus clobber us.

They're going to regret that. I hope. Anyway, we head past them, and we meet Team Olympus's resident twin terrors: Apollo and Artemis.

I think we've met these two clowns before. But from where? *snaps fingers* Oh, yeah! Now I remember! Back at the Ladoga Shrine! We encountered them in entry #12! They were trying to summon something called "Divaevus". Naturally, since their mythological counterparts were twins, it was a double battle. In the Shrine, we had gotten a surprise tag partner in Morgan, one of the game's Elite Four. Unfortunately, she's...not here with us right now.

Presumably she's out doing...some Elite Four stuff. What do the Elite Four do when they are not fighting off future champions? Do they have side businesses? I mean, I can imagine they get government funding. But do they also have side gigs? For example, does one of the Elite Four run a restaurant? Does one of them also run a dance studio?

Yeah, I get that gameplay-wise, the Elite Four are basically meant to be more obstacles. I just think it would be really neat to see a Pokemon game explore them a bit more, make them come off more as actual characters. Do a bit more worldbuilding with them. Just a thought.

It seems that their boss has lost a bit of faith in them. After all, it's not hard to see why. They don't exactly have the best of track records against us.

But, back to the task at hand. I'm going to need a partner to fight Apollo and Artemis. Who's going to back me up?

Oh, great. Him.

Ohhhhhh, I am screwed. I am so screwed. Jake is an overcompensating jackwagon, and you can bet he's here because he only cares about showing how "great" he is. Did I do something to royally anger Arceus to get stuck with this royal clown? *sigh* Well, I do need a partner, and I guess I have to work with what I got. Apollo and Artemis have claimed that they had trouble against him, too. So maybe it won't be all bad.

...and then Jake has to be the overcompensating dimwit he is and say we're "Team Yoloswag". ...you are so lucky that we have bigger fish to fry here, Jake. Because you need your nose broken for that. It's here that we get a twist. Zeus expects Apollo and Artemis to lose. He basically wants them to soften up our Pokemon so he can have an easier time finishing them off. ...I take it he is completely unaware that there's a Nurse Joy hanging around nearby.

Being the overcompensating jerk he is, Jake decides to call our team "Team Yoloswag". Team Yoloswag. Screw you, Jake.

1st Pokemon: Electivire (Apollo) and Sableye (Artemis). Jake sends out Charizard and I sent out Moguera the Garchomp. Charizard and Garchomp easily defeated Electivire.
2nd Pokemon: Sharpedo (Apollo). Artemis's Sableye turned out to be a Zoroark casting an illusion. Sharpedo defeated Charizard with Surf, forcing jake to bring out Scrafty. Zoroark was defeated by Sharpedo's Surf attack.
3rd Pokemon: Banette (Artemis). Luxray defeats Sharpedo.
4th Pokemon: Luxray (Apollo). Artemis withdrew Banette and brought in her (presuambly real) Sableye. Moguera defeated Apollo's Luxray. This Pokemon is such a beast here.
5th Pokemon: Tyranitar (Apollo). This Pokemon has the ability Sand Stream, which causes a sandstorm that hurts your Pokemon a little every turn. I switched out for Victreebel. Tyrnaitar defeated Scrafty, and Jake brought out Lairon. Victreebel defeated Tyranitar. Lairon defeated Sableye. Artemis brought out her Bannette. I brought out Butterfree. Bannette was able to paralyze Lairon with Thunder Wave. Butterfree put Banette to sleep with Sleep Powder, and Lairon was able to finish it with Iron Tail.

And with that, Apollo and Artemis are beaten. They tell us that only one of us can ascend to the top. Jake decides that he'll let me do it because he's got "too much swag" for that. Jackoff, Team Olympus is trying to capture Legendary Pokemon so they can conquer the world. That's more important that your stupid "swag"! And the boss only wants to talk to me anyway. Ha ha, you suck, Jake.

After this battle, the game automatically heals up your Pokémon for you. You do not have to go and face Zeus right away. I saved the game here because, well...for obvious reasons. I don't want to face the big boss here unless I am absolutely ready to face him. After all, his Pokémon are nearly at level 60. I want to be ready for him.

I STRONGLY URGE you to save the game here if you make it to this point. This is the last chance you have to do some more grinding before you face Zeus.

And here is where I think we'll stop for this month. Next time, hopefully we'll get to face Zeus and hand him a whuppin'. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading this blog entry! If you liked it, show it off! Take care of yourselves, and each other! Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home, wash your hands often, wear a mask, and get vaccinated! See you next time!
