Hello, and welcome back to the Eldiw region! This is entry #36 in my Text Play of Pokémon Xenoverse!
I do have a bit of an announcement to make. It has been three years since I have started this here Text Play journey when it comes to this game. I want to thank everyone who has followed me on this journey through this fangame so far, and I hope you continue to join me every month as I go through the Eldiw region. And now, on with the show!
Last time, we started to make our way through the Dance Room of Wallace Daddy's gym in Hypelion City. We did some exploring, and we did a bit of battling, naturally. There is still one area of the Room we should look at: This corner here.
And it turns out we're not a VIP here, so we have to leave. I'm wondering if our role in helping to wreck the Quasar Express had something to do with it. 😬
(wince)
Is it just me, or do the dudes in orange hoodies resemble Scraggy to a degree? I mean, seriously! Look! This is a Scraggy!
I can't be the only one who noticed this. Anyway, let's head back to the dance floor. Once we get there, we should battle this dude here.
(Hip Hop) Sean
1st Pokémon: Smeargle (Lv. 38) - Defeated by Trishout
2nd Pokémon: Vroombug (Lv. 40) - Defeated by Trishout
3rd Pokemon: Loudred (Lv. 41) - Started with Palossand. Loudred used Roar, which caused it to be switched for Avalugg. Defeated by Avalugg with Ice Fang.
You may notice after you defeat him, the tile you're standing on (if you're standing in front of him) is starting to flash. Remember that photograph that was shown to us by Rika in the last entry?
Yeah, that one! We have to walk this path and make these tiles glow. As you walk the path on the photo, the tiles will flash. On the way, we can fight this girl here.
Let's do this.
(Breaker) Kate
1st Pokémon: Lopunny (Lv. 43) - Defeated by Trishout. With her defeat, I got the "Champion" achievement!
(woo-hoo)
Once you complete the path, the DJ calls for us.
He asks us to come to his DJ booth, which is in the lower left corner of the room. He wants to see if we're ready to head to the Golden Studio. And naturally, he does it with a Pokémon battle.
(DJ) Jade
1st Pokémon: Bremand (Electric variant, Lv. 43) - Defeated by Palossand
2nd Pokémon: Loudred (Lv. 43) - Started with Harrowk. Loudred used Roar, which forced a switch to Swirlix. Loudred defeated by Avalugg.
Jade thinks we rule on the dance floor and the battlefield. Is there anything we can't do? Well, we can't calculate pi to the 600th integer, ha ha. With that, he gives us the Studio Ticket and wishes us luck. He also warns that ol' Wallce Daddy is a tough trainer underneath the good-guy persona. Well, yeah. He's a gym leader. I doubt he'd be one if he wasn't.
Before we head up to the Golden Studio and face Wally himself, we should go get our Pokémon healed up at the Pokémon Center. Now, you may be thinking, "Oh no, do we have to do the puzzles again?!"
(headdesk)
Actually, no. We do not. Yeah, one good thing about this gym? If you have solved all the puzzles already, you can just take the elevator to and from the various floors, including the lobby. That's nice.
(nice)
Sebastian's remark implies that not many Trainers manage to reach this level often. I can imagine it's the puzzles of this Gym. I mean, the Rock Room alone probably has driven a few trainers to say "The heck with this! I'm going home!" Anyway, there's a friend of ours waiting for us in the Studio.
Yup, it's Wally's assistant/manager Sebastian. Naturally, like many of the NPCs you meet in a Pokémon game, he is a trainer. He tells us Wally is right behind the door he is standing in front of. And he just has one simple question for us:
"What is the title of his first album that was certified as a gold record?"
The answer is "Rags to Riches". It's pretty obvious. If you answer with that, he praises us as a long-time fan. But he will still have to battle us. So, let's do this.
(Manager) Sebastian
1st Pokemon: Hystearic (Lv. 42) - Defeated by Trishout.
2nd Pokemon: Wigglytuff (Lv. 42) - Defeated by Palossand.
3rd Pokemon: Kricketune (Lv. 42) - Defeated by Trishout.
After the battle, Sebastian is satisfied. As far as he's concerned, we've proven ourselves a worthy opponent for Wally. He's kind enough to heal our Pokémon up for us afterwards so we are ready. Thanks, man!
(Terminator thumbs up)
And I'm afraid that's where we have to stop for the month.
(whoo-hoo)
To be honest, I just guessed based on the title.
Sebastian'll ask you which of Wallce Daddy's albums first went gold. The answer is "Rags to Riches".
