Today is World Water Day!
This day is an annual United Nations observance (first proposed in 1992 and observed in 1993) that is meant to highlight the necessity and the importance of the conservation of fresh water. After all, fresh water is something that is critical to human survival. Fresh water helps keep people hydrated and clean. It's something that is taken for granted by many people.
Sadly, according to this, there are still nearly 785 million people that lack access to clean fresh water. Most water is used for agriculture, to feed crops. Climate change is also affecting water access, with worsening rainfall as well as droughts. If you want to learn more about how you can help with this, even in a small way, you can look here. There are also small other ways you can help conserve water, like taking quick showers nor not using the tap while brushing your teeth. We can all help conserve water. Thanks for reading this blog entry! If you liked it, show it off! Take care of yourselves and each other! See you next time!
