Paper Mario: The Origami King Announcement Trailer, My Thoughts

In 2000, Nintendo published the Intelligent Systems-developed RPG Paper Mario in Japan for the Nintendo 64, and the rest of the world got it a year later. Developed for amateur gamers, the RPG would gain much critical acclaim. It also was the top-selling game in Japan at release at 276,000 copies.

The success of this game would naturally lead to sequels on various other Nintendo consoles. And the Nintendo Switch is going to be the home of the latest game in the series: The Origami King. Let's take a look at the announcement trailer!

Come in...if you dare.

Origami Princess Peach is cute. Enough said.

Hey, Peach's Castle retains the Super Mario 64 interior. Is there a bonus level if you look up at the sky from the sun carpet?

Yeah, I get the feeling that Princess Peach did not get her origami upgrade willingly.

Is it like getting zombified? You get bitten by origami things and then you become origami?

I think Bowser is in a TON of pain.

One advantage of being origami? You can disguise yourself just by folding yourself differently.

The Mushroom Kingdom has suddenly become a Japanese wrestling match. Streamers everywhere...

Hey, Mario made an origami friend.

Mario, you should know what a Bob-Omb is by now. How many of them have exploded trying to get you over the years?

I have to say this, the game looks really gorgeous. Seriously. it's beautiful. And it looks like we may get a variety of environments.

Wow. Paper bombers.

Hey, Samus Aran's helmet! She's the main character of the Metroid games.

Well, this game looks to be a lot of fun. I've never played any of the Paper Mario games, but this one looks like a good place to start. I hope there's a demo! Thanks for reading this blog entry! If you liked it, show it off! Take care of yourselves and each other! Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home, and wash your hands often! See you next time!
