NWA Powerrr Episode 17, My Thoughts

It's that time again! Time to check in with the weekly adventures of the stars of the National Wrestling Alliance as they once again feel the powerrrrr! That's right, it's another edition of NWA Powerrr! Let's take a look!

Recap time!

We got a new intro! I like the new look, but I do miss "Into the Fire". I felt it fit the old-school feel of the show better as it was a song from the 80s.

And we begin the show with an interview with Tim Storm! We're part of the family? Does this mean I'm invited to the Storm family dinner? I hope there's turkey! Mmm, turkey...

Tim, you can't fight for the title again! Remember episode 1?

So, Tim Storm is not going to retire? Well, good for him. As long as he can still go, after all...

Thom Latimer's...actually got a point, Timmy. Episode 1, anyone?!

OH MY GOD THEY GOT MAMA STORM...she sure has some...interesting five o'clock shadow...

Frank Gotch? That's REAL old-school.

Match #1 - Caleb Konway vs. Matt Cross

Konley had a pretty cool entrance there.

Winner: Matt Cross

Fun match, I thought Konley would win it, as he's more of a "name" here, having appeared in multiple past episodes. Crowd really got into both guys, which is good.

Aldis can sound pretty intimidating when he needs to.

Looks like The Pope has aligned himself with the Dawson boys!

Eddie Kingston is not mad. He's not mad at all. He's a good boy. He's also not a moron. Against the Dawsons, you're going to need some backup. and he's got it in the form of the Bouncers from Ring of Honor!

Get in there and fight him, Pope! You coward!

I like this vlog idea. It's a great way for us to get to know Mai Valentine.

Match #2 - NWA National Championship - Trevor Murdoch vs. Aron Stevens (c)

Aron Stevens has really been quite entertaining here in the NWA. It's great seeing him play the chicken coward heel.

Even better? Fans are BOOING the bad guy! That's nice.

Winner: Aron Stevens (retains via timeout)

That was a good match. Like Murdoch sending a message at the end.

I want Zicky Dice to jump into a vat of Legos.

Match #3 - NWA Tag Team Champions James Storm/Eli Drake vs. Jocephus/Mims

Hey, Mims is back!

Drake and Storm have to be one of the most entertaining teams in the NWA. I can imaginethey also get drunk a LOT.

Yeah...

Winners: James Storm/Eli Drake

A good short little match.

Main event time! Hard Times rematch!

Match #4 - NWA Women's Championship Match - Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Allysin Kay

I did wish we got some prematch promos from them before this.

I like Thunder Rosa's gear.

I also enjoy the exchanges these two women are having during their matches. The dueling snapmares and forearm shots.

Loks like Kay's got some backup in the form of Tasha Steelz and Ashley Vox! And Marti Belle could be causing some cracks in the Lethal Latinas...

Thunder Rosa must be like "come on, man!" after those pin attempts!

Looks like Rosa finally got her!

Winner: Thunder Rosa

Yep, some cracks are forming in the Lethal Latinas...

This was a fun episode! I really enjoyed it. There was a bit more focus on matches. We got two title matches, which was a nice treat. I was a bit saddened Stevens retained, but I think it's setting up a program with Murdoch, so I don't mind.
