Crypt of the NecroDancer Trailer, My Thoughts

Lately, Nintendo seems to have become much more welcoming towards independently-made games. And it's not hard to see why. We are somewhat in a bit of a Golden Age for these kind of games. Shovel Knight, Retro City Rampage, Gunvolt, indie studios are pumping out more quality games than ever.

One such studio is Brace Yourself Games, and one of their creations is Crypt of the NecroDancer. The game combines roguelike dungeon exploration with the rhythm game concept. One would think such an idea would be seen as a disastrous expression of utter insanity, but the game won awards and got very positive critical reception. Originally released for computers, the PlayStation 4, and the Vita, it's now coming to the Nintendo Switch. And here's the trailer for it!

I have to say, I like the music in the background. It feels like something Dracula would play if he had a nightclub in his castle.

I also like the look of the game. It's bright, colorful, and the aesthetic is cool. I love that it doesn't fear bright colors and neon.

It seems one can pick between two different characters. I wonder if each character has their different strengths and weaknesses. Would make for good replayability and make players think.

Wait, 110 SONGS on the OST? That's a lot of tracks! I looked it up, and in the previous releases, there were multiple soundtracks that players could choose from to listen to during the game.

Well, this looked really cool. The Switch is clearly well on its way to have one of the strongest libraries of any video game console ever. I'd love to give this a shot.
