Happy Easter, everyone!
Easter is the day that Jesus Christ got resurrected, which was three days after his got crucified by the Romans in around 30 AD. The holiday is often celebrated on a Sunday because of some things involving the first full moon after March 21. As a result of how it was calculated, there have been some controversies over the date Easter is supposed to be celebrated on.
This day is normally celebrated with parades, and with egg hunts. Eggs are considered a symbol of Easter as they symbolize Jesus's empty tomb. Another icon that was associated with Easter is the Easter Bunny, who started out among German Lutherans as a Santa Claus-like character that gave colored eggs (originally toys) to good children.
