New Mario Bros. U Deluxe Announcement Trailer

In 2012, Nintendo released New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U. It was a massive critical and commercial success. The game sold 5.77 million units for the Wii U, and it was the console's third best-selling title.

With Nintendo's latest Direct, they announced this game will be joining several other Wii U titles to get an enhanced port for the Switch in January 2019. Say hello to New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe!

Yes, not only will you get the core title, you'll also get the special DLC, New Super Luigi U. It was a special additional campaign to celebrate the Year of Luigi. The Year of Luigi, going from March 2013-2014 was an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of Luigi's debut in the original Mario Bros. arcade game.

It makes sense Nabbit the Rabbit would be in this game. He was in Luigi U. And his immunity from harm from enemies will make him a hit with the speedrunner type.

Hey, Toadette! I'm guessing she's here to make up for being the kidnap victim of Captain Toad. And she can power up into what looks like a fusion with...Princess Peach? Oh, here comes the fan art...

I like that Peachette can recover from a fall. Makes her a great character for beginners.

This is great! I loved this game for the Wii U, and I think it's awesome I can play it on the go. The Wii U was an underappreciated console with some great games. It's fantastic that some of them are coming to the Switch, because more people will get to play these games. Combine that with the Switch allowing people to play games on the go, and you can't lose. Get this game when it comes out! If you love Mario, you will not regret it!
