Guacamelee! Switch Launch Trailer, My Thoughts

In 2013, Canadian game developer DrinkBox Studios created the action platforming game Guacamelee! Inspired by Mexican culture and folklore, the game focused on a agave farmer named Juan Aguacate. After dying trying to save his beloved girlfriend from the villainous charro skeleton Carlos Calaca, Juan is given a magical luchador mask which transforms him into a powerful wrestler. Now Juan must use the power of the luchador mask to save his beloved from being used as a sacrifice in a ritual to merge the lands of the living and the dead. The game would be highly praised, but also criticized for its short length.

The game was originally released for the PS3, Vita, PC, Linux, and Mac OS X in 2013. In 2014, an enhanced version came to the Wii U, X-Box 360, X-Box One, and PlayStation 4. And now, it's coming to the Nintendo Switch, the tenth console Juan will be bodyslamming. Let's take a look at the launch trailer!

Are those the bosses? Because they look awesome.

Super Turbo Championship Edition. Get it? A nod to the various versions of Street Fighter II. All it needs is a Hyper.

Did Ryu teach Juan the Hadoken?

BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY, KING! JUAN JUST BODYSLAMMED THEM STRAIGHT TO HELL!

That'll hurt!

Nobody likes a hot lava bath. Well, except for Magma.

Better hope that monster had its rabies shots.

That mariachi band/totem pole boss is pretty neat. Juan's going to so European Uppercut its faces off.

Well, this game looks like a ton of fun. I hope it has some RPG elements. I like RPG elements. Maybe there's a demo...
