Detective Pikachu Trailer, My Thoughts

Over the last 20 years, the Pokémon franchise has expanded in various ways beyond the main series games. From a trading card game to Pokémon Pinball, Game Freak has experimented with their big cash cow franchise a lot. And here is the newest spin-off, Detective Pikachu!

The trailer begins with a look at a town that looks somewhat...rough.

A voice states that Pikachu has lost his memory and humans cannot be trusted. I'm guessing this game's story is going to take some twists and turns.

Hey, Mewtwo.

I gotta admit, I like the voice they got for Pikachu here, although considering this Pikachu is wearing a deerstalker, they should have given him an upper-class English accent.

So, we have to help a boy named Tim find his dad. Alright, sounds like a good mystery idea for kids. This game is most likely going to be made for kids.

Hey, a TV studio! Maybe Tim and Pikachu will appear on a talk show.

Was...was that Brock Lesnar? Brock Lesnar is in a Pokémon game. Is Suplex City a real place in the Pokémon universe?

I do think it's neat that both humans and Pokémon can give out clues that can help solve mysteries.

This looks like a neat little game. I'll give it a try.
