The trailer begins with us taking a look at the old Cherry Tree Lane. It may be the 1930s, but some things never change. It brings back memories of this film as a kid. I loved the crazy old captain who fired fireworks from his cannon.
Hey look, the old kite from the original. Looks to be in good shape for being in the garbage for twenty years. Off it goes!
Oh hi Lin-Manuel! He's trading in the Hamilton shirts for the chimney sweep cap, as he's taking up the role of Jack, a young lamplighter who is an apprentice of Bert, Dick Van Dyke's character from the original. I wonder if he's going to do a bad Cockney accent like Van Dyke did. I hope he does, if only for the potential hilarity.
Kid better catch that kite. It's clearly taking a beating.
Heh, the clouds part for Mary Poppins. She would be so helpful when bad storms hit.
I have to admit, Emily Blunt looks good as Mary Poppins.
This looks like it will be a fun Christmas movie.
