Equalizer 2 Trailer, My Thoughts

From 1985 to 1989, CBS aired the crime drama The Equalizer. It starred the late British actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a former agent of a mysterious CIA-like agency known only as "The Agency" or "The Company". McCall, tired of his mysterious work, decided to publish an ad stating that he will offer his services as a protector, investigator, or a troubleshooter free of charge. Alongside a web of contacts from his "Company" days, McCall would spend four years delivering justice to the wicked of New York City. Woodward would get nominated for the Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series every year of the show's run, but never won. The show was also known for its theme song, which was composed by Stewart Copeland of The Police.

In 2014, Anthony Fuqua would loosely adapt the show into a film starring Denzel Washington. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film was a success at the box office. The film was criticized for its violence and plot, but was praised for the acting, soundtrack, and the visual style. And now a sequel is on the way! Here is the trailer for it!

Okay, why do they show scenes before starting the actual trailer? We're going to see these in the trailer, anyway. What's the point?

Where is that building? What is that building?

Those guys are like "Hey, let's talk to this totally nice dude. It's not like he's a former CIA agent who is going to kill us all because we did something really bad."

Death by Teapot. Happens more often than you think. Teapots are bloodthirsty little drink containers.

He killed those men in ten seconds. Good for you, McCall.

"Well, that was a good night of Equalizin'."

Nice to see McCall still has some friends in the Company...yeah, she's totally gonna die.

Yup, there's going to be some brutal Equalizing going down.

GRENADE!

Oh, that explosion is going to raise a ruckus.

Hey, Star Trek reference! Does that mean Denzel's McCall is a Trekkie? That actually would be cool.

McCall really likes breaking arms, doesn't he? Ah well, we all have our talents.

Okay, that bit at the end was pretty funny.

I never saw the first Equalizer film, but I just may give this one a look. Hopefully, it'll be one of those films that you can just turn your brain off for a bit and enjoy the action. And it's got Denzel in the lead, so one can definitely expect a good acting job by him. And here's a nice little bonus for you: The original Equalizer theme by Stewart Copeland. Enjoy!
